Clamp covering machine
With our clamp covering machines, clamps can be quickly and easily covered with fleece, as well as being fixed in a windproof manner.
Effects of clamp covering
- Decrease of frost in the clamp
- Constant temperature inside the clamp
- Preservation of the quality from harvesting until loading and production
- Breathable fleece
- Decrease of volume and sugar loss
- Protection against rain
- Drying of dirt on the beets
- Improvement of beet cleaning while loading on the field
A Clamp covering combination consists of:
Covering machine
Frost paddle
Fleece disc
Joystick
Protection against frost
Clamp covering protects the beets from frost. Light frost will not get in the clamp. Dry beets do not freeze together, beet quality will preserve
Easier beet cleaning
The pre-cleaning is much easier, since the dirt on the beets will dry and fell of during the pre-cleaning process. Less dirt will be transported to the sugar factory. Rain will be detained from the clamp.
Quality and transport
Clamp covering is profitable due to covered beets will not lose the sugar and the quality does not decrease while storing the beets on the field for several weeks. Loading while rain and frost works without any difficulty.
Since the sugar beet lives on in the heap, a small amount of sugar is breathed in to generate energy.
With optimal storage, the loss of sugar is approx. 100g per t of beet and day of storage
In the first few days after harvest, additional sugar is broken down for wound healing.
The larger the area of injury (this also includes the head cut), the greater the loss
Injuries not only increase wound healing, but also favor the microorganisms, resulting in significantly increased overall losses
The fleece cover can reduce up to 150g of sugar loss per ton of beet per day.
With 30 days storage and a yield of 70t/ha and 18% sugar content
